All About The Color

As I was choosing what I want to do with my bedroom for next year, I first had to decide on a color scheme. To keep things mature, I chose two main colors to be paired with nuetrals. Obviously, I wanted pink and red because those are more girly and exciting. Although this has caused me a little trouble since everything in stores right now are blues and greens, I have really enjoyed "going on the hunt" for things for my room! Pictured above is my first purchase that I am sooo excited about! This canvas is from Pier1 Imports and I am so in love! I will be keeping you all posted on my fantastic buys!

We want more!

Because I know everyone does not want to use pink and red as their color scheme, above are my favorite canvases available now in many different colors! Click the picture to go to the website to find prices or to purchase! Happy shopping!

Trend Alert!

One trend I couldn't be more excited about is COWHIDE RUGS!! I am dying to buy myself one! They are so rustic chic and take the style of the room to a whole new level of amazing! My personal favorites are the light brown and tan/white ones, but with the right accessories the black and white can be stunning! I believe the best ways to style them are catty corner them at the bottom/ side of the bed, place under the coffee table, or in a foyer area. This is one of those trends that will be around a while due to its classy look, so go ahead and splurge on one if you're bold enough to rock the look!

Home is where the heart is

as i shop for my apartment, i hope to inspire you to spice up your space!

Everyone, meet my interior design idol Crystal Langston! She is a gorgeous and fabulous store owner in Florence who also does interior design. She has a one of a kind style that I am so in love with! I am sure you will all see posts on my blog that have her stuff from time to time! If I had to label her style I would call it rustic chic elegance.... and also addicting! Check out her store in Florence, South Carolina! Also, she has allowed me to link her picture to her Facebook where you can find all things fabulous!

meet Crystal!

Goodwill hunting

So as you all know, I am a broke college student and recently I have taken on the hobby of thrifting! I am so excited to show you all my first thrify purchase from Goodwill! I LOVE this gorgeous mirror and it didn't put a hole in my pocket (which is amazing)! I have not decided if i am going to paint it yet, but either way its gorgeous! I hope you are all inspired to give thrifting a try!

(I tried to blur out myself since I was looking a little rough on my visit haha did not work to well so ignore me)

Pillow talk

After many days of unsuccessful shopping trips for apartment items I finally found pillows I am in love with! I want to purchase one more small pink and white stripe pillow to go in front of the mustard pillow, but that is not necessary to help you see where I am going with this. I love bold pattern pairings and these two patterns are perfect together!! You can do this to make-over your room too! Just pick out a throw pillow in a pattern you love, then pick a color out of the first pillow you love and find a pattern with that color. Let your third pillow be another color out of the first pillow, then finish with a color that looks great with all three (my pink and white pillow I have yet to find). This will spice up an old space and give your room a new look! Don't let a tight budget stop you! All these pillows together only cost me about $60 due to steals I found at TJ MAXX and Ross! I will be pairing this with my white comforter and I am still looking for a quilt or throw for the end of my bed! Stay tuned to see what else I find!

Bee hive gifts

Bee Hive Gifts is located in Kingstree, SC. They have gorgeous home decor options to revive an old space, or the perfect gift for newlyweds! I picked these two photos to share with you because I love the silver combo for an entryway space or the hallway (anywhere that needs a little something to occupy it), and the pillow selection she has is perfect to try the tips I explained in my last post! Even more exciting news.... she almost has the twin pillow to my floral one pictured below!!! If you love it, you can go purchase one almost identical here! Plus the ladies in here are wonderful and are always willing to help! Happy shopping!

From Boring walls to jealous awes

Your walls will quickly become the envy of all your friends if you check out Dawn Ellen's Art! These gorgeous pieces will glam up your space and add many colors to pull from for the space! Of course I like the red and pink pieces the best (which we all know is no surprise), but all of her pieces are fabulous! I think they would be perfect for an entry-way, an over the desk picture, or in a dining room! You can check out more of her work by clicking her picture. It will take you to her art page on Facebook where you can inquire about purchasing! Also, you can check out her pieces in the new store, The Pink Stable, by our very own Kingstree native Kathryn Hutton (check out the post about her on my "What I'm Wearing" page)!
