Croppin it...

SO. I am so excited to be posting my first official outfit of the day on here! Martha and I literally had a blast running around campus taking pictures in different outfits at our first official photoshoot, but this outfit has got to be one of my faves. Staying true to the new crop top trend, I found this white lace one at Forever 21! And of course maxi skirts are still in style for summer, and yes I got this one at Forever 21 as well! I've paired the outfit with a pair of comfy Guess leather sandals, Lucky Brand dangly earrings and my two lucky rings! (Not lucky brand rings, but they literally bring me good luck. Don't judge.) I personally think that every girl needs a signature piece they can always throw on with every outfit, and my rings do that for me! I've decided to post the links to similar pieces if you want to get an outfit like this one, so just click the pics below! :)

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE BOTTOMS...

One HUGE trend that i've been noticing around campus lately is printed maxi skirts, shorts, and pants! And I must say that I'm loving it. Throw on a tight or loose crop top and a pair of leather wedges, and you have the perfect outfit that can transition from day to night! So cute! So what do you guys think?

Since my first year of college ended, I've been super lazy and wearing norts and t-shirts everyday. But today I decided to have a little fun and try something new...and it's just as comfy! I'm all about combining comfort and fashion, and this outfit does just that. This flouncy floral top from Forever 21 is the perfect top to just tuck in for a casual effortless look. The cotton shorts from J Crew are my absolute FAVORITES because they are so soft and stretchy that I feel good in them all day long! And I can eat as much as I want... But besides that, this sort of look can easily go from day to night. In my first picture I'm wearing my gold Jacks and a simple ring for accessories, but to go out you can easily throw on a cute chunky necklace like the one pictured below from Francesca's! For shoes, put on some nude wedges for comfort and style and you can go from day to night just like that! High waisted shorts like these are super trendy lately, so you can't go wrong with a look like this!

Bridal Shower tips & Tricks

When it comes to hosting a bridal shower, there is a lot that goes into it! From choosing decorations to deciding what to wear, it can be a lot of work! Here I've got some tips and tricks on how to go about styling a seemingly effortless shower!

Step 1: the outfit

If you're anything like me and you love fashion, I already know you have a million sundresses in your closet to choose from! But of course I still went out and bought a new dress. This one is from Gap, a store I rarely shop in and yet I found the cutest things! For anyone attending a bridal shower I would suggest a cute sundress, but obviously leave the white to the bride! I hate when people wear white to wedding events when they aren't the one getting married...this is the bride/my cousin in the middle and she's wearing a super cute white sundress paired with a chunky necklace! My sister on the left is being cute and casual with her flowy fuschia sundress from American Eagle and denim jacket from Forever 21! So stay cute and classy, but leave the attention for the bride to be!

STEP 2: FLOWERS

So unfortunately I can't take credit for these gorgeous flower arrangements...but these were made by my awesome mom and I was so impressed! She went to the ghetto kroger down the street and bought these flowers separately for super cheap, then put them together in arrangements herself! She chose pink and white peoonies with smaller roses and rosebuds, and then clipped some larger leaves from our garden to add some green to the arrangement! For anyone on a budget, designing your own floral arrangements is a simple way to save money, and can also be a lot of fun!

Lighting is a perfect way to add a fancy and romantic touch to a bridal shower! I got these pictures off of pinterest because I forgot to take pics of what we had at our party, but you get the idea! We took small candles and surrounded the flower arrangements with them, and then hung string lights on our patio around our pergola. String lights and candles are a super cheap way to add a little sparkle to your party!

Step 3: lights

So I've been super obsessed with monograms lately, and as I've been thinking about what I need to get to decorate my dorm for the fall, all I could think about were monograms! As a sorority girl I am obviously obsessed with them, but this monogram sign is so unique and unlike any other monogram decorations i've seen. It can be used as a door sign, and is perfect to put up in your house to add some decoration, or on your dorm room door! I also think this is the perfect gift for a little! The cutest part is that they are sorority themed, so all you have to do is go to Brant Point prep's etsy account and go find your color and sorority. Obviously mine is Phi Mu themed and I love it because it is our rose and white colors and has the quatrefoils! I'm obsessed! So anyone who is all about monograms and their sorority should definitely go get one of these, I know I'll be hanging mine in the Phi Mu House! :) Click the link to the left to get your own!
